I take photographs for fun. But of course, there’s more to it than that. Photographs fix moments of time. Often, unless autobiographical, those moments are taken from a continuity of another’s life-process, whether it be a person, another living thing or an inanimate object. The photograph only has purchase when it changes the viewer in some way. It thereby becomes incorporated into another life-process. It is this social ontology, this second-hand value that interests me.
